There are some powerful thoughts contained like "I love and respect myself whether I am thin or not" & "I forgive myself and others for things that have caused me to be overweight".have you ever said that to yourself? I hadn't.I could do without the intro and exit credits on this cd which is a cassette recording from 1986. Yet I don't feel it's dated at all. I love it. It's great if you need to teach yourself how to do positive self talk- it heals the soul so you can heal your body, and I bought a second copy- I have one at the pool outside and one when I want to listen before bed.

I'm on my 4th copy of SLIM FOREVER.. and I'm wondering if the negative reviews are because some of the CDs seem to be missing the relaxation method??I have 2 newly purchased copies and they both go to side B and skip the relaxation side?I first started using this when it came out On a cassette tape version, side A was on one side and side B was on the other; On the CD it goes straight to side B on disc one???THIS WILL WORK IF IT YOU USE IT RELIGIOUSLY AND YOU MUST BE OPEN THO THE SUGGESTIONS,I Would like to hear from Random House AUDIO ACTIVATION regarding this issue.I bought several extra CDs to give to friends and I'm hoping that they're not experiencing the same thing.the other thing is THE CD PLAYERS.. I really love this but I think it should say it is a Kelly Howell recording. She has a newer one that I like better. It is a duo set called Slim Naturally. This is a great start for positive weight loss affirmations and soothing music with subliminal weight loss affirmations that you of course can not hear on these tracks. Some of the tracks have the words outloud so you know what you are putting in your head. :) enjoy and good luck. I have lost 4 pounds in 10 days but fitness pal on my ipad deserves the main credit.

So I have been listening to this cd for almost 6 weeks. I have lost 15 lbs and I do look at my diet and eating habits very different than I did when I first started. But it does warn you, you have to listen to it every day, and I have, but I also bought a copy for my daughter and she listens to it maybe once a week, she has only lost 5 lbs in six weeks and has informed me she is giving up on it. sooo if ya give it the time it works or at least it has for me.

I used Slim forever in the late 09's when it was on cassette. It worked for me then and I'm hoping it will do the same for me now. I also have it on CD so I can listen while in my car. I'm excited to now have it as an audio book so I can listen while I sleep! I wouldRecommend this subliminal self help recoding to any woman wanting to loose weight and feel better about herself. The positive affirmations are a confidence booster. We all know that what we say to ourselves is very important. This tape helps our conscious and subconscious to build up and not tear down.

5 consecutive weeks is recommended. I listened to this each night at bedtime. Had mental conditioning positive results within a week and got improved and stronger control over weight loss destroyers until I was finally in control and a winner. Highly recommend.also has a part with messages to listen to during your day. Highly recommend that too.

Okay, in theory this subliminal cd should work for weight loss; however, after listening to it for 8 days straight I just felt like the subliminal side was a waste of time. First off, it was produced in 1986. To Audio Activation's credit buying this cd was my first foray into the world of subliminal self-help so I'm not trashing their brand by any means. After 8 days I just couldn't wrap my brain around how this was a subliminal cd when all there is to side A is a woman speaking in a very soothing voice saying things like I 'love my body' etc. The affirmations were wonderful to listen to, but I didn't think it was going to do anything for my subconscious. I feel like 14 years later technology has advanced by leaps and bounds so it'd probably be better for me to invest in something more cutting edge used with a state of the art synthesizer (or whatever sound machines are used to make subliminal cds) for it to be worth my while. In contrast to side A, I absolutely love side B. It's just instrumental with ocean sounds etc. You can hear some subliminal talk underneath all the music which is actually what I thought side A would be like. So in all, buying this cd wasn't a total waste. I got a nice instrumental side out of the deal which I play pretty much every day while working. Not bad.

A lovely collection of vintage crochet doily patterns taken from thread company publications of the 1940s-1950s. Ranging in size from 4.5" to 21" if made using the suggested thread sizes, the patterns themselves are not too complicated for an intermediate crocheter. Beginners may want to try a few less challenging thread projects before tackling these.There has been no editing done on these patterns, and the original black and white photos are included. So far, I've found no errors in the instructions (these are written instructions, not symbols).The suggested thread sizes for most of these is 20, 30, 40 or 50 -- VERY small (size 50 is basically sewing thread). My eyes just aren't that good anymore, so I use size 10 thread with a 1.5mm or 1.8mm hook. This means that the finished product will be larger than the measurement in the book, but if size isn't critical, this works great.All told, I do like this book. It hearkens back to a time when these doily instruction pamphlets were produced by the thousands to keep homemakers challenged with new ideas and patterns. There are a few patterns that I will make more than once.

As a thread crocheter, I've collected doily patterns since I was a child. Growing up in the 50s, these were abundant in grandmother's and great-grandmother's homes and they bring me back to those simple times even before television! The instructions are clear and they work up easily if you've had experience with thread crochet and the feel of smaller hooks. A recommended buy. I bought this for my 77 year old mother and she is thrilled with it. She has beeb crocheting for a long time and she was afraid that these patterns might be the same ones that she has already done, but she was thrilled to find that the majority of them were new patterns for her.

It is a really cool book. It has many beautiful models. However, if you like to crochet using the charts, this is not the book for you, because only 2 models out from over 20 have charts. If you understand the written crochet patterns, then it is the book for you! I understand both types of patterns charts and written patterns,so it works for me.

Love the vintage crochet books and they are getting harder and harder to find. This is not really for beginners, but if you know how to crochet or want to expand your knowledge, this book is great. The patterns use stitches like "long trebles", 5 times over the hook, instead of the basic chain stitch in some of the patterns, but they are beautiful when done. Make sure you use the required size of thread though as some of these are made with very small. Fantastic addition to my "library".

I've worked several of the patterns from this book. They are beautiful and perfectly vintage. I might also add, patterns are well written and easy to understand. I love this book.

Bought for a gift for my 87 year old crocheting mother. She loves it! I have put my order in for several patterns in this book.

These instructions looks easy enough for me to follow. Love all the patterns.

I have read at least 30 books about investing. If this book had been the first, I don't think it would have meant as much to me as it does. But with experience it does mean a lot although it does not present a "get rich tomorrow" solution. But I believe the method presented in this book will change the rest of my life, and hopefully the lives of those coming after me.This is my first review. I just had to. Some of you will probably think it's a waste. Good luck.But for others, this is the one you should read, and follow.

Book was in very good condition when it arrived. Content was helpful and author had a sense of humor. Get your kids to read this and get started on being financially knowledgeable.

This is simply the best book I have ever read on the subject of investing. No alpha/beta discussions. No standard deviation smoke and mirrors. No need to be an investing sophisticate to understand Murray's message. Simple, clear, and very, very readable. All investors should read the first 27 pages straight through and then go from there. The entire book can be read in a few short hours. I have given this book to clients and been told that they feel it is the best book they have read on investing and that they are giving this book to their children to read. I highly recommend Simple Wealth Inevitable Wealth. Retail investors will NOT be disappointed in this book.

Great advice! Wish I had read it years ago. I especially like that it recommends stocks, not bonds for the long haul. If one is investing over 30 or so years, he will historically get a lot more return out of stocks with no bond portion.Only needs a bit of updating - I don't think advisors would use 6% withdrawal figure these days, probably 4% at best.

This book was recommended by my financial advisor and opened my eyes to an alternative view of investing. Nick Murray presented his thesis clearly at the beginning and supported that thesis the rest of the way through. He sprinkled in some humor and down-to-earth commentary that both connected me to the author and broke up the investment learning. The first big plus was that I didn’t spend the entire book wanting Rosie to...well...die. I found her insufferable in the first two books. The author managed to hit a nice stride with her character and put her where she belongs...as a SUPPORTING supporting character. I would’ve given this five stars but the first third of the book was so slow! There were also so many characters and plots that, while tied up in the end, were a bit confusing. And I came into the book having read the first two! Not to mention that Don wasn’t allowed to shine as much as I’d hoped. Otherwise, Don’s escapades-especially with the animals mating idea-had me laughing such I feared giving myself a hernia! Seriously. I laughed until I cried. I hope we’re not done with Don and the fam!!!

Don, is a scientist with Aspergers and his relationship with Rosie is just wonderful. Especially considering where Don started out from, and all the hurdles he had to overcome. Seeing him now with his child, and still going strong with Rosie after 13 years made me love him even more. Personally, I love it when kids are part of a story. Even better if the kid is like Hudson, a mini Don, with all his complexities.I’m not going to lie, I have a weakness for quirky characters.And often that comes when characters who struggle with every day occurrences, social niceties, and an overall way of thinking differently in a world that isn’t very forgiving or tolerant.The Rosie Result is all about Don trying to make Hudson’s life at school easier. The way he goes about is heart warming and so “Don”. Hudson, with eleven years has a mind of his own, and a very strong personality. And I loved how the author took the offerings and advice of a village to resolve it all.Don’s problem solving as always made me grin and chuckle. He still struggles with some aspects but he has Rosie to guide him when unsure. I truly love their relationship. The outspokenness, openness, and honesty between them works wonders.Also incredibly fascinating was the interaction between school and parents, all the small dramas and school politics, especially in regards to Autism. It was a bit eye-opening too if I’m honest. But I loved how united Don and Rosie were in all things Hudson. I could talk for hours about the way Don and Rosie made me smile whenever they played good cop and bad cop – at least their version of it.I believe this might even be the BEST book in this series.That’s actually pretty amazing – it’s rare that sequels surpass the first novel. But for me it’s all about the kids – they make books even better and actually bring out the best in many characters.

My favorite of the Rosie books, and I loved The Rosie Project. This book was funny - some times laugh out loud funny, sometimes eye-rolling funny. It was also imbued with taut writing and warmth, charm, and love. It’s thought provoking discussion of autism was engaging without being heavy or preachy and delivered with care and grace. Only vegans and anti-vaxxers need be worried - on many fronts. Well done. Now I guess we need to wait for the movie. Jennifer Lawrence was all wrong for Rosie. How about Alia Shawkat?

These books are just happiness for the soul - the third book being every bit as enjoyable as the other two. I am RARELY one to read trilogies, losing interest as I go. The way Mr. Simsion writes in Don’s voice, the clever way the reader knows things that Don does not see, the nuttiness of the characters that surround him - it’s a formula the author pulls off perfectly. And I could not wait to read it. What an enjoyable ride.

An absolutely fascinating and insightful trilogy into the much disputed field of the autism spectrum. As evidenced in this last book, it seems that early intervention (and a father who had experienced the same difficulties) gave the boy a great advantage in learning social skills and yet accepting who he was as a person. The mother provided a wonderful support and back-up to both males with her own intelligence and skills in dealing with their deficiencies. My only criticism is that there was some confusion as to autism's relationship (if any) to Asperger's syndrome, which displays similar symptoms. High intelligence seems to be a feature of both conditions (inevitably in the maths/science field) and perhaps more prevalent in boys than girls? As is ADHD. Future scientists may discover why.

I have read the trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed it.I think we can all identify to larger and lesser degrees with many of the aspects and challenges that “autistic” people face.I found it very well balanced with discussions and thoughts throughout as to the many issues and layers there are to autism and pros and cons of labeling people. It’s not that straightforward!These books will stay with me for a very long time.

This was a really good sequel addressing the natural result of Don trying to raise a son and coming full circle in coming to terms with his childhood struggles and appreciating his father. Here, Rosie is no longer the focus and becomes a supporting character, which is a good thing. Don and Rosie's son Hudson is the object of focus and Don is still the protagonist which is how it should be since being in Don's head is always the most entertaining and moving aspect.

Fantastic finish to the series. I appreciate how the author made all of the characters dynamic. This book isn't just useful for understanding neurodiversity, it is great for showing growth of all characters and not relying on bad/good guy tropes. The book is more realistic because of this.I'm sad it is billed as an ending to the series as I would live to see Don tackle being a grandparent!

Poor editing in the book is very distracting. The practice exam included in the book and in the online exams contain numerous false statements. Use them at your own risk. I am currently seeking a better way to prepare for the exam. This book leaves me feeling ill-prepared.

I'm only on page 23 and I've already found 6 typos!! That is inexcusable! By the time I'm finished, I'll probably update my review with a grand total. Also like other people have mentioned, getting the online tools that come with the book takes you around in circles a few times.

I found several errors. Book is not set in a logical order. Elements are introduced and not explained for several pages. Words are misspelled, omitted or, misused. Issues that illustrate carelessness.

So this book is for IT personnel who have had no physical experience to this area of IT. Disliked that there were no kind of pre-setup instructions prior to beginning the exercises, if you are looking for that get the ALL-IN-ONE Mcgraw Hill book. I was hoping for this one to show detailed photograph examples of the internal hardware of the servers for rackmount and Blade, also variations of the different SANS out there. Also it give a scenario mission to get the reader jump started into the material and keep it along the way. Teaching/learning can be more fun that way. Would be great if extra material can be added to the book as for showing a bit of a detail on a data center row for infrastructure layout is like IT enterprise for 1000 users, by showing how many servers for each role and etc. Lastly have on a disk or online access to standardized IT documentation from start to finish of a server life cycle. It will really help with the day to day tech role and when we pursue our Bachelor Degrees. Mention thru out the text with more business details involved from IT PM perspective too.

When I ordered this there was only this and the Logical Operations books covering this test. Between those two this is the better book by a mile. Not because this is great, but because the LO book is virtually useless. The online services while good are just horrible to get access to. The registration process is this strange ouroboros of websites that constantly link back and forth between each other with what seem to be different user accounts and passwords for each one. In the 20 years I've been internetting, this is the angriest I've ever been with any web service. If you have happened to purchased 2 Sybex books and also want to access both the web resources on the same account...... well, may God have mercy on your soul. Still the best study guide out at the moment, but just because the others suck so very, very much.

Let me state that I haven't finished this book yet.However I've been keeping a running track of the errors found in this book. I'm sure the content is mostly accurate to the test for certification, so I've given this 3 stars. However the author or publisher should not let so many errors through.

Very nice study guide I ordered this as a reference for my work and also my MNCM course work.

Poor editing. Learned nothing. Want a refund.

Good historical read of the governance of Australia's early convict history.Author characterises each governor by presenting both good and bad points of their personality and how it impacted on their rule.

Why am I the first reviewer of this? It has been out for 9 years, and the author is one of Australia's best known historians.Anyway, this book covers the immediate pre-Federation years to after the Great War. It is in these years that we see the concept jelling of an Australian nation. Fighting against the centrifugal trends from outlying colonies of Queensland and Western Australia. The Federation events themselves are shown to be fairly low key. Nothing really controversial.It is the Great War that really cemented the national identity. The bloody episode of Gallipoli of course. But also the more costly battles on the Western Front. Unlike the US, Australia never fought a war of independence to establish its own identity. Instead, the Great War took its place.

Manning Clark is a disgrace to the profession of historian. Like,( was it Lillian Hellman ?),every word he writes is a lie, including "and" and "the". All that can be said in favour of this volume in that the later ones in the series are even worse. To illustrate what a looney-tune this is, Clark claims the hardy and daring Indonesian seafarers were too frightened to (allegedly) sail in the direction of Australia because of tales of a speaking fruit ("Wak Wak")!. When a lunatic tried to assassinate a previous Duke of Edinburgh, he suggests a judge who was a witness to the event was sadistically looking forward to presiding over the would-be assassin's trial - shows how much he knew about law! Shame on Melbourne University Press for publishing this base, tedious, deluded, nugatory rubbish!
